Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Performance Monitoring
At Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust we believe that everybody has the right to be respected, valued and empowered within an environment that us the very best we can provide for each person on every occasion.
We value diversity and are determined to ensure that:
- All individuals are treated fairly, with dignity and respect
- The opportunities provided by the Trust are open to all
- The Trust provides a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for staff, patients. Clients and visitors.
The Equality and Inclusion Team runs engagement events where we actively seek views and comments from staff and general public on equality issues. They also provide a range of training courses for staff in relation to equality and human rights issues (which can be accessed via classroom taught sessions, eLearning or poster presentations), equality impact assessments, cultural awareness and how to tackle bullying and harassment in the workplace.
To ensure the Trust is meeting the needs of the diverse communities we serve, the Public Sector Equality Duty and our contractual requirements we review our performance annually.
Equality Delivery System (EDS2)
The Trust reviews its performance against NHS England’s performance framework EDS2 annually this entails the EDI team gathering evidence from across the Trust and working with local people from our diverse communities, local Health Watch and community groups who review our evidence and decide the grade.
