PAT Transactions - Staff Update

Latest update - Wednesday 8th January

You will be aware of our ongoing work in respect of Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and the future of the associated hospital services.  Information was shared with staff before Christmas on the approach that is being taken to managing North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) under a contract with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and the Oldham, Rochdale and Bury hospitals and services under a contract with Salford Royal from 1st April 2020.

MFT and SRFT are continuing to work together to develop the practical arrangements, and this includes introducing new members of the NMGH management team.  We are announcing this week that the Hospital Chief Executive for NMGH from 1st April will be Dena Marshall.  Dena is currently Chief Executive of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, and has an established track record of successful leadership in managing hospital services.  She will start to work alongside the existing North Manchester team from 20th January 2020.

SRFT and MFT will continue to work together collaboratively to establish the new governance and leadership arrangements from 1st April 2020, with a view to completing the formal transaction processes as soon as possible, and by 1st April 2021 at the latest.
