16 December 2020

THE Northern Care Alliance NHS Group which operates hospitals and community services in Salford, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale has been shortlisted for three national healthcare awards.

The HSJ Partnership Awards 2021 recognise the most effective collaborations with the NHS across the country.

The three awards the NCA has been shortlisted for are:

  • Local COVID-19 Response Partnership Award - Greater Manchester Cancer, The Christie FT and Rochdale Infirmary (part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group)
  • HealthTech Partnership of the Year - Medtronic UK, Manchester University FT and the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group
  • Information Sharing and Data Integration Award - Insource and Northern Care Alliance NHS Group

Raj Jain, Chief Executive at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for the Northern Care Alliance and I am very proud of the staff involved in these successful partnerships involving private and third sector organisations. I think this shows how innovative we are as a hospital group, working incredibly well with partners at the cutting edge of healthcare. I wish everyone involved good luck in winning their category.”

The Local COVID-19 Response Partnership entry was shortlisted for the work we have done to stand up cancer care for patients in Greater Manchester at our Rochdale Infirmary site, which has successfully treated patients safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our shortlisted entry for the HealthTech Partnership of the Year award recognises our Triage HF Plus partnership with Medtronic, which uses remotely monitored device data to optimise heart care.

We have also been shortlisted with Insource in the Information Sharing and Data Integration Award category, for PatientPathwayPlus. This is a regional data sharing solution for waiting list and care pathway management, which has resulted in improved accuracy and efficiency.

The next stage in the awards process is the live presentations stage where those shortlisted have to present to the HSJ judging panel. The Awards ceremony itself takes place in June 2021.

This will be held at Evolution London which is located on an exclusive site in the heart of the Grade II listed Battersea Park.
