Join The Manchester Sleepout and make a direct impact in the lives of people who are homeless
On Friday 8th November the Booth Centre is inviting the local community to sleep out for one night so that others don’t have to. Now in its 9th year, The Manchester Sleepout is once again going to be held in the gardens of the beautiful Manchester Cathedral.
Participants will raise vital funds and awareness for the work of the Booth Centre, supporting people who are homeless to move into safe, secure accommodation and to rebuild their lives.
The Booth Centre offers holistic, wrap around support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. 100% of the funds raised from the 2018 Manchester Sleepout were directed towards the support, advice and activities offered by the Centre, making a direct impact, locally. Generous support from sponsors Construction Impact Framework, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Salford, ensures funds raised from the event are spent into supporting people directly.
In the past 12 months the Booth Centre has supported 104 people to gain employment and 103 people to complete the Supported Volunteering Programme, which provides stability and enables people to gain experience whilst working towards employment and long term secure accommodation. The Centre also supported 271 people who were homeless to move into accommodation.
If you live or work in Greater Manchester, you will know there are still many more people in need of support to move away from homelessness and to have the opportunity of a good quality of life. You can help the Booth Centre to continue to support people in our community by joining The Manchester Sleepout on 8th November. Visit www.boothcentre.org.uk to register.
