Coats4Kids campaign launched at North Manchester General Hospital
Kind-hearted staff at North Manchester General Hospital have launched a campaign to help keep kids warm this winter. They have called their campaign ‘Coats4kids’ and are hoping people will support the campaign by donating coats which can be new or in good condition.
Divisional Director Nursing Paediatrics and Neonates Kathryn Krinks said: “We don’t want children to go to school or nursery cold especially now the temperature is falling.
“It can be challenging for families, especially, when they have multiple children, to afford winter coats for all the children, and we know there will be other families where the children have grown out of the coats so quickly, as they do, and they want to recycle their old coats which haven’t had full wear out of them.
“This is about re-purposing those coats for a really great cause. Anyone can have a coat, there’s no criteria, no questions, no details we need – there may be members of staff who could use a coat. It’s a nice thing to be able to offer people – especially in the run up to Christmas which is bound to stretch families’ finances even further.”
People who wish to donate a new or quality used coat can drop them off at the reception of the Children’s Ward at North Manchester General Hospital, Monday – Friday between 8.30am and 10.30am.
