Bury residents invited along to a free talk on tinnitus
24 January 2020

THE Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) is inviting Bury residents to a free talk about tinnitus at Prestwich Library on 4 February, 2pm – 3pm to coincide with Tinnitus Awareness Week (3-9 Feb).

This year, the British Tinnitus Association will focus the awareness week on research and the importance of trying to find a cure.

Tinnitus is the term for the sensation of hearing a sound in the absence of any external sound. Symptoms of tinnitus include hearing different types of sound, for example, ringing, whooshing or humming or buzzing in the ear. These can be continuous or they can come and go. The tinnitus might seem like it’s in one ear or both, in the middle of the head or even be difficult to pinpoint.

The talk will be given by Bury’s Audiology Service, which supports patients with tinnitus and other ear care issues.

If you are suffering with tinnitus, or caring for someone who does, come along to this free talk for advice and guidance on the condition, as well as methods of support. There’s no need to book, just drop in.

Time: 2-3pm

Date: 4 February

Venue: Prestwich Library, Longfield Centre, Manchester, M25 1AY
