Bury hospital ward celebrates nursing achievement
Ward 8 at the Northern Care Alliance’s (NCA) Fairfield General Hospital is celebrating delivering the best care possible for their patients by becoming accredited as Safe, Clean and Personal Care every time (SCAPE).
Ward 8 a 26 bedded respiratory medicine ward at Fairfield General Hospital has been striving towards SCAPE, which is part of the Nursing Assessment and Accreditations System (NAAS) set up by Salford Royal to assure staff, patients and visitors about patient care. Wards work with a set of standards and indicators, including communication, patient experience and team work.
To gain SCAPE status ward 8 had to achieve green status three times in a row before undertaking a final ward assessment and presenting to a panel highlighting how they met the 13 standards and are reaching being safe, clean and personal.
Jacqui Burrow, Director of Nursing at Bury and Rochdale Care Organisation said:
“I am so proud of ward 8 for being awarded SCAPE. This is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication from every member of the team. The care and compassion shown to our patients is echoed in the support we give to each other. What an achievement to know that the care we give is safe, clean and personal every time!”
