HMR Health Visiting

Every family with a child aged 0-5 years in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale has a health visitor.

Our health visitors are qualified nurses or midwives with specialist qualifications in community public health. We complete additional training which enable us to assess the health needs of you and your family to promote good health and prevent illness.

We offer support and encouragement to you and your family from pregnancy and birth, through the early years, to primary school. We can give advice on lots of things including infant feeding, healthy weight and nutrition, child development, accident prevention, oral health and emotional health and wellbeing.

We will offer you a core set of visits, but if you need extra support we can tailor the service around your needs. We deliver care in your home, health centres, children’s centres and other community-based locations and work closely with a wide range of other professionals.
