The Trust has published a report after investigating claims of abuse by Jimmy Savile at Birch Hill Hospital, Rochdale. |
Trust recruits project facilitator to shared decision making role |
|
Kerry O’Keefe has joined the Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN) Delivery Team at the Trust as project facilitator for Shared Decision Making. Kerry started work on 2nd February and will be in post on a 12-month secondment. Kerry will be building on work already undertaken to embed Shared Decision Making in Maternity, Respiratory, Diabetes and Out Patients Department and engaging wider to roll out Shared Decision Making across the Trust. |
New Blood Borne Viruses clinic opens its doors in Ancoats |

A new adult clinic for patients with blood borne viruses (BBV) such as Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B and HIV has opened in Ancoats provided by a team at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The clinic is based in Ancoats Primary Care Centre and is open from 3pm – 6pm on alternative Mondays for all adults aged 16 years and over. |
Pennine cancer and palliative care user group seeks new members |

The Pennine Patient User Partnership (PPUP), a cancer and palliative care user group for patients and their carers is seeking new members, particularly from the North Manchester, Bury and Rochdale areas, however new members from Oldham are also welcome. |
Trust forms global partnership to help Cambodian street kids |
|
A new three year global partnership has been formed between The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, the University of Salford and M’Lop Tapang, a local non-profit organisation that works with over 4000 children and families living on the streets of Sihanoukville in Cambodia. |
New appointments |

Director of performance & contracting Neil Clark will be joining the Trust during the next two months as our director of performance and contracting. Neil is currently chief operating officer at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust but will be familiar to many staff here at Pennine Acute as he was formerly head of contracting in the Trust for a number of years. Newly appointed orthopaedic consultants The Trauma and Orthopaedic directorate at the Trust has appointed seven new consultants: Mr Daniel Cohen, Mr Chris Peck, Mr Ed Yates, Mr Dave Murray, Miss Sabeen Akhtar, Mr Neil Jain, and Mr Simon Roche. All work across a range of sub specialities and the majority have undertaken part of their training within Pennine Acute. All seven consultants are newly qualified consultants. |
