CQC Statement of Purpose
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is a non-departmental, public body, which regulates, inspects and reviews all adult social care services in the public, private and voluntary sectors in England. This means that their inspection staff have a duty to check all hospitals in England to ensure they are meeting government standards, and then share their findings with the public.
Visits to the Trust are carried out regularly. CQC staff visit Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust premises and staff to undertake routine inspections of services throughout the year and publish their findings on their website.
