What type of roles can we offer you within The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust?

There a many different types of corporate and support function roles, across a number of departments, which provide support to ensure the smooth and continued operation of the whole Trust. The following information represents just a taste of the varied roles available within the Trust.

Workforce

There are various teams of people who support staff to achieve their potential in employment.  A wide range of opportunities are available:-

  • Workforce Planning & Information

The qualifications you need are a minimum of Level 2 in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business Administration, Customer Service or Leadership & Management combined with Teaching and/or, Assessing & Verifying, English and Maths. Some roles will require a degree, an equivalent qualification or previous experience.

We have a small number of Level 2 apprenticeship vacancies within this team that are open each year.

Information Management &Technology (IM&T)

IM&T is responsible for all matters relating to information technology and information management. There are wide and varied career paths in IM&T which can be customer and non-customer facing. Roles within this team cover many areas including IT support, IT systems, services and infrastructure as well as security, procurement and management information.

For technical roles, an appropriate certificate in that technology would be required. Otherwise, more general certificates in ITIL (Infrastructure) or PRINCE2 (Project Management) would be necessary.

Strategy & Commercial Development

This team provides strategic support to the Trust in terms of corporate strategy and business planning, managing external relationships, transformation programmes, project management, commercial development and marketing.

Roles include Senior Project Managers, Transformation Delivery Managers, Business Development Managers, Office Managers and Support Officers. Many of the roles require a degree or equivalent qualification, along with previous experience within that area of work. Postgraduate qualifications or PRINCE2 Practitioner would be necessary for some roles.

Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service

This service plays a key role in the delivery of safe, effective and efficient patient care through promoting and protecting the health of staff. Advice and assistance is offered on prevention, timely intervention, rehabilitation, health assessments at work, promotion of health and wellbeing, teaching and training.

The route to entry level employment and industry specific qualifications which would be required for a career in Occupational Health at either physician or nurse level range from registration and experience of immunisation and occupational health experience for an Occupational Nurse Advisor, to medical degree, MB ChB or equivalent and postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine or AFOM.

What development opportunities do we offer you?

You will have the option to undertake a range of learning and development opportunities as we encourage continuous development within the Trust. We support staff to achieve apprenticeship qualifications appropriate to their role, as well as other qualifications such as teaching, assessing and verifying.

There are many IT technologies that offer on-line accredited learning and certification including those by Microsoft, CISCO, VMWare, PRINCE, ITIL.

Other developmental opportunities include the potential to study for master’s degree, professional qualifications, programme management qualifications, risk management, quality improvement methodology.
