What type of roles can we offer you within The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust?

The Trust employs a large number of Allied Health Professionals and Support Workers who provide services across community and hospital settings via an innovative health and social care model, working in partnership with a broad range of local partners.

Being part of this new and forward thinking approach to the delivery of care means that you will be helping to provide care closer to the patient’s home, whilst also playing your part in helping to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.

Each of the Allied Health Professional roles
are supported by a number of Health
and Social Care Workers from a variety of
academic and professional backgrounds.

What training or qualifications do you need to join us?

The Allied Health Professional roles above are degree level entry, with the opportunity to gain a broad range of experiences via rotation throughout hospitals, community and intermediate services. Access to the Support Worker roles can be through many different routes:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Pre-employment experience
  • Cadetships
  • Newly designed Health and Social Care
  • Worker roles
  • Assistant Practitioners
  • University supported training and development
  • Further education supported training and development
  • Entry at school/college level with career development provided

What is it like working for The Trust?

“Training as a Physiotherapist has enabled me to work as an autonomous practitioner in my own right. Significantly, as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, we work together to ensure the best outcomes for our service users. I have had the opportunity to work in both health and social care environments and in patients’ own homes. This has enabled me to acquire a variety of skills and to ensure that each day is different.”

What development opportunities do we offer you?

Opportunities exist for all staff to pursue an academic and/or vocational pathway and the Trust supports a number of staff in a variety of roles to achieve additional skills and qualifications.

The division works closely with a number of public sector and not for profit organisations under a formal partnership. This provides the opportunity for staff to gain experience in other organisations and in a variety of roles.
