Patient experience is a recognised factor of high quality care.

The focus on the patient and their experience of care ensures that our service is always centred on the needs of the patient and so understanding these needs is essential. This information helps us to develop local action plans and along with a range of other outcomes to drive improvements.

Surveys

The Northern Care Alliance carries out regular surveys to find out what patients think about their care with us.  The main surveys:

  • Friends and Family Test
  • National Inpatient Survey
  • National Cancer Survey
  • NHS Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) Survey
  • Maternity Services Survey

Terms and conditions

These are part of a national programme to improve patients’ experiences while in hospital. Taking part in the survey is voluntary, and all answers are confidential.
