Macmillan Cancer Support
Our Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre opened at North Manchester General Hospital in 2010, to assist patients, and their family and friends with cancer.
Funded by the charity Macmillan Cancer Support, the centre provides an open access service for anyone looking for information about cancer. This includes information about how to reduce your risk of cancer and symptoms to look out for. The centre also provides information for people with cancer, those caring for someone with cancer, and signposts users to support available for people affected by cancer.
Open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm, the centre provides a calm and welcoming environment, where centre users can talk in confidence to specially trained volunteers or Macmillan staff.
You don't have to book an appointment to speak to someone at the centre, but we advise you to ring to check opening hours before making a special journey. The centre is located between C and D blocks at North Manchester General Hospital, just off the corridor leading to the Gallery Restaurant.
You can also access the service by telephone by calling 0161 604 5244 during opening hours to speak to a member of staff.
