Priority Parking - Parking areas specifically for the use of staff priority permit holders will continue to be provided. However, as part of the changes to the parking policy, the need for priority parking has to be based upon clinical commitments or the need to travel between Trust sites and a frequent time critical basis. Signage for these parking areas is pink in colour.

Parking Restrictions on our hospital sites - No parking/No waiting zones

Restricted parking areas on our hospital sites include:

  • Areas with double yellow lines
  • Areas with single yellow markings on the kerb
  • Yellow hatched areas - where parking or waiting, even for Blue Badge holders is not allowed. Parking enforcement notices may be issued to vehicles parked there.

Parking areas also exist where only certain types of vehicle, such as ambulances, buses, contractor vehicles or delivery vehicles, may be allowed to park/wait. Such locations will have signage or road markings to indicate this in addition to the possible use of double yellow lines at the kerbside of the carriageway, yellow or white ‘hatched’ areas and or solid yellow or white lines.
