Neuro Rehabilitation Unit - Floyd Unit

Who is the service for?

The Floyd unit is an 18 bedded specialist Intermediate Neuro-rehabilitation unit – that cares for people who have rehabilitation needs after brain injury or other neurological impairment. Patients are usually referred following hospital admission or via specialist community services.

The service also provides Consultant led outpatient clinics at the Floyd Unit and specialist care settings in the area.

What does the service provide?

The service provides intensive inpatient multi-disciplinary neuro rehabilitation.

Movement disorders especially dystonia, Botulinum Toxin injections, complex brain injury rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, neurodegeneative disorders.

Who will patients meet while under your department’s/service’s care?

Rehabilitation Consultants, Staff Grade doctor, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Support Workers, a Consultant Psychologist and Speech & Language Therapists.

When is the service available?

The inpatient unit is open 24 hours a day , 365 days a year.

Outpatients are provided during Monday – Friday working hours.
