TAMSIN Programme - North Manchester
Who is the service for?
The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in North Manchester provides the tamsin programme within all care settings across North Manchester.
This provides support and mentorship to care home staff to increase nutritional awareness; carry out nutritional screening of residents; review and improve the mealtime experience; and conduct menu analysis.
What does the service provide?
Participation in the programme focuses on applying quality nutritional standards to meet the resident’s needs and their preferences.
Through the programme each care setting is supported to be able to recognise and treat malnutrition with a food first approach and improve the standard of nutritional care.
This prevents exacerbation of chronic disease, reduces reliance on nutritional supplements and reduces avoidable hospital admissions.
When is the service available?
Available Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm
Closed on bank holidays.
Where is the service provided?
The programme is facilitated within 26 residential and nursing homes across North Manchester.
