Acute Medicine Bury
The Acute Medical Team provides a high level of specialist assessment and treatment to those admitted with medical emergencies.
The primary role of Anaesthetists is to see a patient on the ward on the day of surgery to discuss the type of anaesthesia available.
Antenatal and Newborn Screening
The Antenatal and Screening service provides information on screening services available to all preganant women.
When a pregnant woman is asked to attend an antenatal clinic at a hospital, it is usually for routine examinations, tests and an ultrasound scan, which helps to make sure both the woman and her baby are healthy, as well as providing an estimated date for the birth.
The service provides clinics for patients to attend to have point of care blood tests for International Ratio ( INR) which determines the dose of the anticoagulant drug between blood tests.

The Audiology service provided by Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust at North Manchester General Hospital is a comprehensive service that delivers adult and children’s assessment, hearing aid management and ongoing rehabilitation.
