Trust shortlisted as regional finalists in NHS North West Leadership Recognition Awards
THE Community Pharmacy Team at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has been shortlisted in the NHS Innovator category at the NHS North West Leadership Recognition Awards 2015.
The Trust’s shortlisted entry details the Trust community pharmacy team’s focus on caring for its patients and understanding the impact medications have on a person. The entry is about the team striving to support patients and their relatives in a way and setting that is tailored to them. The aim of the service is to optimise medication and reduce medication related readmission to hospital.
The Community Pharmacy Team currently operates in two catchment areas Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, and North Manchester.
Gareth Adams, Principal Clinical Pharmacist at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said:
“We are extremely privileged to be shortlisted for this award and it is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and reward the team’s achievements over the past few years. The community services which our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians deliver are innovative and are designed to enhance medication adherence, reduce side effects and drive down medication waste. Good luck to the team for the 3rd December and fingers crossed that we can bring this award back to the Trust.”
The awards will be held on the evening of Thursday, 3rd December. They celebrate the fantastic leadership work happening across the North West and recognise people who have improved people’s health and the public’s experience of the NHS across the North West.
The winner in each category will be announced on the evening and all the regional winners will go on to be finalists at the NHS National Leadership Recognition Awards in February 2016.
