IT systems at Pennine Acute Hospitals
The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is currently experiencing problems with some of its IT systems, network and email due to an IT fault.
The root cause of the problems is not yet understood and it is unclear when systems will come back up. There is, however, no suggestion this is an IT virus.
Access to some IT systems and email across the Trust is temporarily unavailable. This is affecting a number of services provided from The Royal Oldham Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital, North Manchester General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary including some community services.
Patient safety is our main priority and we have tried and tested contingency plans in place at our hospitals and community services to ensure services remain safe and patients are not unduly affected.
A&E and Maternity services are not affected.
Patients who are due to attend hospital for an appointment including an elective operation today should continue to attend unless they hear directly from the Trust.
Telecommunications across all sites are not affected.
We are working closely with our commissioners, health and social care partners and GP practices as part of our contingency plans in every effort to limit the disruption to patients.
We do not have an estimated time for when we expect our IT systems to be back online. The Trust is doing everything it can to resolve the problems as a priority.
