Accessibility Statement

This website is fully responsive and can be viewed on a variety of devices such as PC, laptop, tablet and smartphone.

The site should be viewable by all the major browsers including Internet Explorer IE6.0 and above, Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and above, Google Chrome 2.0 Safari, and Opera 9.0 and above.

The site has been developed to be as accessible to as wide an audience as possible and we have designed the site to meet W3C WAI AA standards of accessibility and according to NHS Guidelines.

You should be able to view the site in alternative text sizes and colours and we recommend you do this via your browser. The option to do this via our website is available in the top left hand navigation on our home page.

The site also offers a Browsealoud function. Browsealoud is a speech enabling program that makes web content more accessible to visually impaired users and users who may have difficulty reading.  This means that all of our web pages and PDF documents such as Patient Information Leaflets are now available in audio form. All you have to do to is click on the orange Browsealoud icon which can be found at the bottom left of the screen. This will allow you to listen to an audio version of the page/document. Browsealoud can also translate the text and also allow you to listen in numerous languages.

If you are using an older version of Internet Explorer, for example, IE 8 or 9,  you may not be able to use the Broswealoud feature. The browsers that are fully supported and have been tested are IE11 and Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Goggle Chrome and Safari. Please update your Internet browser to the latest version.

You can upgrade to IE 11 by visiting the Microsoft site and following the instructions - click here

To download any other compatible web brower, (ie Chrome or Firefox) simply do a web search for the browser and you will be prompted to download the latest version.
